It happens to almost everyone at some time. You may have cracked your laptop screen or slammed your laptop into the display. Naturally, you cannot just run down to the store and purchase a new unit. What you need instead is a laptop screen repair to fix your laptop quickly and easily.
There are two basic ways to perform a laptop screen repair. The first involves removing the broken computer screen and replacing it with a new one. This is by far the easiest option but also the most expensive. In addition, the screen needs to be attached to the computer in order for the new screen to fit correctly. This can be difficult, so many people do not opt for this option. If you are worried about spending a lot of money on a laptop screen replacement then this may not be the best option for you.
A second way to perform laptop screen repair is to use an inverter to charge the laptop screens. Most people have a desktop computer and connect it to the laptop via a USB cord. When the laptop battery dies, the laptop shuts down. Since most laptop batteries have a limited life span, this means the LCD will become completely dead. In the meantime the power LED, which lights up when the battery is charging, glows blue.
With a laptop that has a screen bezel, this process does not work. To remove the screen bezel, you must unscrew the three screws that hold the old screen in place. Once these are removed you can pull the screen out. At this point, if you did not replace the battery before you pulled the laptop screen out, you need to replace the battery before you can remove the screen.
After the screen is removed, you will need to make sure that there are no small hair like pieces left on the surface. These pieces usually cause a lot of damage to LCD monitors. If you do not remove this hair, then the new screen will be very scratchy. Before you install the new screen, you will need to make sure that the screws are tightened to their proper places.
After you have installed the new screen, you will need to reconnect the video connector. This usually comes in one end of the cable, and sometimes both ends. To reconnect the video connector, you will need to have an old VGA outlet that has been disconnected. Next, connect the new video connector to the outlet. Usually the connection is very tight, so be careful not to overheat the connection, because it can be very dangerous.
Next, use a pair of pliers to easily detach the bezel. You should notice that the bezel is usually held in place by 2 metal clips. Remove these clips and the bezel should come off quite easily. This part may be difficult to get at if you are working with a laptop computer that does not have a bezel.
Once the bezel is removed, you will notice that there are two flat screws in addition to the two clips holding it in place. You will need to remove these screws and pull off the cover. If there are any plastic pieces on the cover, make sure that you loosen them before you pull it off completely. Once the cover is off, you will notice that the screen is now free of any clasps or wires that were attached to it. With that finished, you can now connect the new battery and power cord.
Reconnect the two clips that are securing the metal frame around the LCD screen. Then, use the screwdriver to remove the screws. You should notice that the screws are loose and can easily be loosened using pliers. You should then be able to remove the metal frame that was holding the LCD screen in place until the LCD is free to be replaced. To do this, you should open up the back of the laptop just enough to reach the screws and pull out the LCD screen. Be careful when removing the screws because they can come out with the rest of the screws once you start to undo them.
Once you have removed the LCD screen, you will need to take the digitizer with you to ensure that you have a good replacement. Take the screwdriver that is for the LCD screen and remove it from the circuit board. This will allow you to insert the digitizer into the hole. Once you have inserted the digitizer into the hole, you will need to screw the screw back in. You should then turn the screw clockwise to lock everything in place.
Finally, reconnect the power cord to the circuit board and turn on the laptop again. Check to make sure that the screen is working correctly before going through these simple steps. It will also help if you have an inverter to test the connection. If you are not sure whether or not the screen will work, you can go ahead and replace the old one in place of the new screen without worrying about whether the new screen will work.
